Tony Albert’s installation ‘Sorry’ turns precisely on the potential for the future this word suggests in 2008. As an Indigenous artist, Albert is acutely aware of the ironies of the Aboriginal kitsch he gathers together into a magnificent parody of past attitudes toward Indigenous Australians, turning history on its head as a way of looking forward.
