Tobias Putrih on architecture and process

In 2009 Tobias Putrih collaborated with American architect and design company MOS on the exhibition project Overhang for the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art. For this installation Putrih used Styrofoam blocks and stack structures according to the basic rules of equilibrium and ‘maximum overhang stacking’ to produce a lightweight structure that appears on the verge of collapse. In an interview conducted with BALTPIC curator Alessandro Vincentelli, Putrih and Michael Meredith discuss the exhibition and inspirations behind it.
