Adel Abdessemed: In the late 1960s Jannis Kounellis said: ‘I am a Greek man but an Italian artist.’
Harris: So nationality is an issue?
Abdessemed: I am not talking about nationality. Nationality is already innate, it doesn’t have to be destroyed, it has to be widened. For me, a good artist is tormented by the world, acting inside a global social sphere.
